Entry Level Electrical Designer 

Overview: Paragon Engineering Services is a professional engineering firm that provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services to contractors, architects, owners, and other engineering firms. We offer competitive and quality services to clients in the commercial, corporate, government, healthcare, industrial, telecommunications, and utility markets. The candidate will primarily operate out of the Chambersburg branch office but will be required to occasionally travel to the York office for training and company meetings.

Classification: Salaried, Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images. 

  • Electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design by assignment.

  • Design layouts based on written and verbal descriptions from engineers that meet all requirements. 

  • Inter-discipline coordination with all departments and customers to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free. 

  • Work from customer drawings, company drawings, or specifications. 

  • Provide basic calculations, field survey, and construction administration support.

  • CAD drafting and/or CAD coordination. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. 

  • Preferred experience in drawing/designing using Auto-CAD. 

  • Preferred experience in commercial electrical design.

Special Requirements:

  • Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Must be a self-starter and able to contribute in design reviews. 

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
